TWO serial armed robbers were denied bail over the weekend.
Tendai Mashiri and Shelton Maponga are facing 14 counts of robbery charges and were remanded in custody to April 3.
The court heard that the two, along with their accomplice who is still at large, connived to steal from complainants.
They were armed with machetes, iron bars and bolt cutters while using a Toyota Wish as a getaway car.
They would forcibly use bolt cutters and iron bars to break doors to gain entrance and they would threaten the complainants with machetes, demanding cash, cellphones and other valuables.
Allegations are that on August 23, last year, Mashiri, Maponga and their accomplice broke into three houses in Warren Park D where they stole television sets, cell phones and cash.
The stolen property was worth US$7 026.
On August 29, 2022, they proceeded to Riddle Ridge where they used an unknown object to force open the locked doors at three different houses.
They stole property worth US$10 057 and nothing was recovered
