A RANK marshal who is stationed at a Hob-House Bus Terminus was ordered to pay $80 monthly towards the upkeep of his child.

Tatenda Chivero was dragged to court by his girlfriend, Rachel Mudhara who described him as negligent.

Mutare magistrate, Mrs Yeukai Chigodora presided over the case.

Mudhara was claiming $350 maintenance, but the court ordered Chivero to pay $80.

“I need $350 since he gets $1 000 monthly as a rank marshal, Your Worship. Chivero is paid $30 daily which amounts to $1 000, but he completely ignores his child’s welfare,” she said.

Chivero, however, disputed the claims and told the court that he works for KM Tours and earns $40 a week.

He also told the court that he was a lawfully married man who was blessed with two children who need his care.

He, however, offered to pay $50 monthly towards the upkeep of his child.

Asked if she had proof that Chivero was a rank marshal, Mudhara told the court that he worked with her uncle who also got $30 a day at the rank.

Chivero was warned against neglecting his child and ordered to contribute $80.
