JOHN Chibadura Nyamukoko, the son of the late sungura star who had the same name, has dismissed the claims of a man who is claiming to be the son of his famous father.
John Jnr is the front-man of the Tembo Brothers, the musical group which was led by his father.
This week, Francisco Zhuwawo Musaka, 45, claimed he is the son of the late music star.
But John Jnr has dismissed those claims.
“I saw Francisco but his claims do not hold water at all,” said John Jnr.
“His explanations did not convince family members considering the fame my father had during his time, and he never found his way to him.
“He is older than me.
“Francisco is after attacking the Tembo Brothers by claiming to be my father’s son, 25 years after my father’s death.
“Hapana chimwe chaarikutsvaga kunze kwekuwana mukana wekuridza nziyo dzababa vangu uye kutevedzera kaimbiro kavo achitadza kuvamuimbi wenguva yake.
“He is one of our rivals, that’s all.”
John Jnr told H-Metro that the Tembo Brothers band is still going strong and on the road to restore the legacy left by Mr Chitungwiza.
“We will be celebrating the life of my father during the Heroes Day with a show in Mutorashanga.
“We have released three albums after I took over the band and we are expecting to release the fourth album this September.”
