Former Mozambican President Joachim Chissano and African Development Bank (AfDB) president Dr Akinwumi Adesina this morning paid a consultative courtesy call on President Mnangagwa at State House in Harare.

President Chissano was appointed Zimbabwe’s high-level facilitator in its Arrears Clearance and Debt Resolution Platform by President Mnangagwa, while Dr Adesina is the debt champion for the process.

In an interview after their closed-door meeting, Dr Adesina said President Mnangagwa continues to show goodwill towards the success of the platform.

“We were talking about Zimbabwe’s arrears and also the debt resolution process for which His Excellency appointed me to be the champion and President Chissano to be the facilitator for that process,” he said.

“So we are just here as part of our consultations. The President has been excellent in supporting the dialogue process. He has always been there,” said Dr Adesina.
