Bulawayo housebreaker arrested

A 38-year-old Bulawayo man has been arrested on allegations of breaking into several houses and stealing various goods and electrical gadgets worth over US$3 500.

Police have since recovered goods worth US$1 900.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “Police in Bulawayo have arrested Tauya Maguwu of Nketa, Bulawayo, after he terrorised Bulawayo residents through unlawful entry and theft from January 2021 to March 2025.

“Several household goods were stolen, including electricals, IT equipment, and cutlery, all valued at US$3 500.

“Property worth US$1 900 has been recovered. The accused person has since appeared in court and was remanded to March 28, 2025.”
