Former Acting Chief Seke and current Headman Manyere (pictured above) of Seke village in Mashonaland East province, Mr Raphael Madigo Manyere, has died.
He was 81.
Headman Manyere is father to prominent private equity investment and advisory firm, Brainworks chief executive officer Mr George Manyere.
He died yesterday at a hospital in the capital after suffering a stroke.
Headman Manyere once acted as Chief Seke at the beginning of 2013 until the end of 2014. On Saturday, headman Manyere witnessed the opening of St Alban’s Manyere Anglican Church by Archbishop Nolbert Kunonga which had been built by the community and was attended by more than 300 worshippers from the Anglican Church Province of Zimbabwe. Mourners are gathered at 22 Lingmell Close, Quinnington, Borrowdale, Harare.
A church service will be held at the same address beginning at 1pm today.
The body is then expected to depart for Manyere Village, Seke.
Burial will be tomorrow at 3pm at Manyere homestead, Manyere Village in Seke.
