GOVERNMENT has hailed the on-going Inter-Ministerial Games in Bulawayo.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Bulawayo Paul Nyoni, described the sports festival as more than just a competition.

The Games kicked off on Monday.
“Bulawayo, steeped in rich history and vibrant culture, stands proudly as a city known for its regal heritage and spirit of unity. It is a city that breathes resilience and excellence, making it the perfect host for this prestigious festival,” said Nyoni.

“Our province is well-equipped with first-class facilities and amenities, ensuring that this event will be conducted smoothly and memorably.

“This festival is more than just a competition; it is an opportunity to promote health, well-being and friendship, among civil servants. As we gather here, let us remember the essential role fitness plays in our lives, boosting our energy, enhancing productivity and fostering strong teamwork.

“A healthy civil service is an effective civil service, and through sport, we not only strengthen our bodies but also our bonds as colleagues and leaders serving our communities.”

Bulawayo Mayor Senator David Coltart said: “First and foremost, our profound gratitude goes to the honourable ministers and the various ministries represented here. Your vision and commitment to preserving and promoting our nation’s cultural wealth have made this inter-ministerial collaboration not just possible, but truly spectacular.

“Your presence here elevates this event and underscores the Government’s dedication to taking culture to every corner of our nation. Thank you for your invaluable support and for choosing the town of Bulawayo as your host.

“You have mesmerised us with your grace, moved us with your music, and told our stories without saying a word. You are the custodians of our traditions, and through your talent, you keep our history alive for the next generation. Thank you for the magic you have brought to our stage and our hearts.”

He also spoke about stakeholders and sponsors.
“Behind the seamless execution of festivities lies weeks of meticulous planning, tireless effort and sleepless nights. You are the unsung heroes who worked behind the curtains, managed the logistics and ensured that every detail was perfect. This festival’s success is a direct result of your dedication.

The Inter-Ministerial Sports Festival, which concludes today is being held at the United College of Education (UCE), Gifford High School and Milton High School.

A total of 26 ministries and five parastatals are taking part in the sporting fiesta. This is a sports event meant to enhance recreational activities through a collaborative, Government-wide approach. — @FungaiMuderere
