The Japan Meteorological Agency said heavy downpours of 100 mm per hour were recorded in the morning in Ohda City of Shimane Prefecture. In parts of western Japan, 350 mm on Sunday caused mudslides and floods that killed a woman and left at least two people missing in Shimane and Yamaguchi prefectures.
