A MABVUKU woman says she has been living in hell as her husband subjects her to relentless bashings.
This prompted her to seek help from the Harare Civil Court.
Clara Matsetswa, who is a vendor, said her violent husband, Elijah Siriyo, turned her into his punching bag.
“Ndinotengesa mabhero and Elijah takes my things without permission and sells them.
“He assaults me in front of my children and I am currently staying at my parents’ house after he kicked me out,” said Clara.
Clara stated that whenever they had a misunderstanding, Elijah would kick her out of the house.
“Did he chase you from your matrimonial home and do you want to go back to that house?” magistrate Sharon Mashavira asked.
Clara said she wanted to return home and magistrate Mashavira granted her the peace order.
She also warned Elijah he would be arrested if he breached the peace order.
