Help us build a house: Blind couple

Ashley Mujoma

A CHITUNGWIZA visually-impaired couple, Elitha Ncube (58) and Bornwell Choka (61), is appealing for help to build a house.

Chitungwiza Town Council has said the couple’s house was built on the road. The mishap was only identified after the regularisation of the stands.

The couple is now seeking financial assistance to build a new structure as all irregular structures now face demolition.

The couple is now pleading with the community to help them with building materials or money to enable them to build a new house before the rains.

Speaking to H-metro, Elitha said: “l don’t know what to do because I don’t have money to build a new house before the rains come. “The Council advised us that they had relocated us to pave the way for the construction of new roads.

“We have managed to mould some bricks with the help of our two grandchildren we stay with.

“But it’s all we can do so we are appealing for help.

“We are looking for whatever building material people can assist us with.”
