BULAWAYO-BASED writer Henry Manda has published his second Christian book titled Encounters with Immanuel, which gives a deeper understanding of the New Testament. The book is a follow up to his first work, The Fallen Homestead, a secular novel released in 2010.

In an interview, Manda said his new book was written for all Christians who want to get a better and deeper understanding of events during Jesus’ time on earth.

“This is part one of the book and there will be more coming.  In the book I focused on the stories in the New Testament relating them to today’s experiences. I want to reach out to people,” he said.

The 26-year-old from Pumula South said his first book spoke of bereavement and the after-effects of losing a loved one, especially the bread winner but his latest is about love and happiness in Christ.

“I want my readers to get a new view of stories they have heard or read in the Bible. After reading this book, one should get a better understanding of his relationship with Christ and look to change in areas he is found wanting,” said Manda.
