BULAWAYO’S first all female imbube outfit, Nobuntu, have completed work on their debut album Thina to be launched tomorrow at the Ndaba Book Café.The talented vocalists who have tapped into the male dominated music genre of imbube, are set to write their own piece of history.

The five member group, founded last year in November, has left many in awe each time they perform. The  group specialises in various genres that include gospel, jazz, reggae, traditional, folk and soul.

Duduzile Sibanda, one of the group members, said work on the album was complete and all was set for the launch.
“We are inviting people to come and support us at the launch of our album. It’s a 10- track album,” said Sibanda.

The album was produced by Insingizi member Dumisani Ramadu Moyo at 10th District Music Studios.
“The title track Thina, meaning us explains who we are and there are also a number of tracks to look forward to.

“We also have original compositions such as Umdali which is a gospel song, The Cry Song an anti-abuse piece and Soka Lami a love song among others”.

Some of the tracks on the album include the popular chorus Ma Ebizwa amagama, Usibali uyashweleza. She said they had taken up the challenge by venturing into the male dominated music genre.
