Herald Editorial Assistant Kapichi dies

HERALD Editorial Assistant Barbra Kapichi has died. She was 42. Kapichi passed on at a Harare hospital on Sunday evening after a long illness. She had been in and out of hospital on a number of occasions.  The Herald Editor Caesar Zvayi expressed sadness at the news of Kapichi’s demise.
“We have lost a dedicated, hard working employee who was free to interact with everyone. She always welcomed visitors with a smile at the front office.

“Our thoughts are with the Kapichi family at this difficult time, especially the young daughter she has left behind” Zvayi said.
A sombre atmosphere engulfed  the newsroom and other departments Kapichi interacted with.

Herald Senior Assistant Editor George Chisoko said: “Tarasikirwa. We have lost an employee who performed her duties to our expectations.

“We greatly feel saddened for her daughter and pray that the family will to take care of her child as much as her mother did.
“Despite having been ill for sometime one can still be at a loss for words, death is intolerable.”

Kapichi joined The Herald in 2003 on a contract basis and was soon elevated to Editorial Assistant in 2004, a position she held until the time of her death.

She is survived by he daughter Rudado (16). Burial arrangements were still to be announced and mourners were gathered at  House Number 15177 Kuwadzana Extension.
