Herbal distributors rewarded

The top prizes (Gold Star) – two Honda CRVs – went to Mrs Abigail Bonyongwe of Marondera and Mr Wisdom Chinhondo of Harare.

Mr Chinhondo also walked away with the second prize of a double-door refrigerator and laptop that were also awarded to five other distributors
The remaining 100 distributors walked away with plasma televisions.

The prizes were awarded according to the number of points scored by a distributor.
The herbal supplements are used to treat various ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, arthritis and fibroids among others.
Sunonys proprietor Ms Wendy Yung said the sale of the medicines in Zimbabwe is aimed at helping locals to boost their health and improve their lives.
“We are using these supplements as a platform for progress for all Zimbabweans,” she said.

Mrs Bonyongwe expressed gratitude to Sunony management, saying the programme had changed her life as she now owns at least 150 cows.
“I have been a distributor since 2010. Sunony has changed my life and I can safely say this has been my year because I have won a car after just two years,” she said.

Mr Johnson Zvavahera of Kwekwe, who won a double-door refrigerator and laptop, commended the Zim-Sino bilateral economic relations for empowering Zimbabweans.
“Companies such as Sunony are operating in Zimbabwe due to the existence of Zim-Sino bilateral economic relations and that should be commended,” he said.
Ralph Zungu, who was a spectator at the event, said that he was inspired by what he had seen.

“I have been inspired and I’m going to sign up for Sunony today because of the reasonable incentives like the weekly prizes, the cars, refrigerators and laptops that are on offer,” he said.

To become a Sunony distributor one has to be 18 years of age and needs to buy products worth US$20 to register.
Mrs Florence Paratema, who won the second prize, had a financial crunch before joining Sunony in 2010.

“I encourage all people of all ages to join Sunony to stay healthy and wealthy,” she said.
However, concern has been raised over the proliferation of herbal medicines in the country and people have been warned to consult medical experts before taking supplementary medicines.
The next award giving ceremony will be on November 30 2013.
