A MUTARE man, Mr Malvern Takabika (22) last Saturday won a brand new Toyota Wish after scoring highest marks for distributing Sunony Chinese herbals in Zimbabwe.A total of 17 distributors walked away with various prizes ranging from laptops, Plasma television sets and refrigerators, while the overall winner received a Toyota Wish from the Chinese herbal company after scoring the highest points in distributing supplementary medicines.

Mr Takabika could not contain his joy while other winners praised the network.

Mr Takabika, a Midlands State University student expressed gratitude to Sunony management and said the programme had changed his life.

“I have been a distributer since 2011. I never knew this can bring good results like what has happened today.  I want to urge my peers to work hard no matter whether you have five O-Level passes or not,” he said.

Sunony Products Zimbabwe branch manager, Mr Godfrey Dhlana, said: “The herbal products were registered with the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe and so far more than 5 000 people are using them.

“To qualify to trade, one needs to become a member of the network and start selling the herbal medicines. The more people one recruit, the more points one attains.

“Sunony herbal products were first introduced in the country two years ago and are being imported from China.  The herbal supplements are used mainly by people suffering from ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, arthritis and fibroids among others.”

However, concern has been raised over the proliferation of herbal medicines in the country and people are warned to consult medical experts before taking supplementary drugs.
