Heroes Celebrated through Free Healthcare Initiative

Brian Samuriwo Foundation is paying tribute to Zimbabwe’s heroes in a unique way by offering free healthcare to the elderly in Bulawayo.
The foundation through it’s health expo initiative is making a significant impact in the community, providing essential medical services to the elderly.

The founder of The foundation who is also propriator KoSamuriwo Pub and Grill, Mr Brian Samuriwo has been using part of his business profits to support local community projects, including the health expo, which was launched in 2023.

The initiative aims to bridge the healthcare gap for the elderly in the Emakhandeni Luveve constituency, who often struggle to access medical care due to financial constraints.

 

The foundation’s team of doctors and pharmacists sets up temporary medical centers in neighborhoods on a rotational basis, ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare.
“We are using part of the profits to support the elderly as a way of giving back to the community which supports our business. Most of the people who patronize our join are the children and grandchildren of this elderly people, ” said Samuriwo.
Since its inception, the health expo has been conducting free medical check-ups and providing medication to those in need.

Samuriwo’s motivation for starting this initiative stems from his desire to give back to the community that raised him. Growing up in Luveve, he understands the challenges faced by the elderly and vulnerable members of society, and he’s determined to make a difference.

By extending the health expo to run from September 3, 2025, Samuriwo aims to celebrate the fallen heroes while also reaching those who may not have access to government provided healthcare services. The foundation has already made a positive impact on the lives of many elderly citizens in Luveve and Emakhandeni.

Gogo Janet Masuku, a 73 year old diabetic patient, expressed her gratitude for the free medical care and medication she received through Samuriwo’s foundation “I have since left the burden of my health problems to Samuriwo who has been getting us treated free of charge, may the Lord give him strength to continue with this good work.”

Samuriwo’s commitment to giving back to his community is evident in his actions, and his health expo initiative is a testament to his dedication to improving the lives of those around him. By providing essential healthcare services and support, Samuriwo is making a tangible difference in the lives of the elderly and vulnerable members of his community.
