PREPARATIONS for the annual Heroes Darts Tournament to be held at Mutare Teachers’ College are at an advanced stage. In an interview, Manicaland Darts Association provincial chairperson, Joel Marime, said preparations for Team Manicaland were now at an advanced stage with participants already identified.
“Preparations are going on smoothly and unlike the previous years where the bulk of the players were mainly from Mutare, this year the association has worked hard and attracted players from Chipinge, Chimanimani, Rusape and Buhera. We have tried to reach out to all the districts,” he said.
Marime said the players were selected after a tournament held at Mutare Teachers’ College last week-end.
“We held a tournament last week-end to select players who will represent Team Manicaland in the upcoming National Heroes Closed Darts Tournament next month,” he said.
Several players in different age groups were selected for this tournament. The province will be represented by two men’s teams, two ladies’ teams and two juniors’ teams for both boys and girls.
