PRODUCERS of a popular local Nambya movie – Shetani are working on another production – Victory of Victim which they hope will be a hit.

The movie set for release next month is being shot in Hwange rural areas.

South Africa-based Treener Ndhlovu who acted as Shetani is directing some scenes for the new movie.

The actor and director who rose to fame after featuring in Shetani – a production which went on to be shown on DStv’s Mzansi Magic – received a rousing welcome from fans in Victoria Falls on Tuesday.

So welcome was she that some competed to present gifts to her such as traditional bags, beads and other artefacts which they normally sell to tourists.

“It’s amazing how people appreciate me and the work we’ve done. I’m in Zimbabwe to market a movie – Ezasemzini — which I also acted in. The movie was released two weeks ago.

“I’m also here to direct some scenes for Victory of Victim at Change, St Mary’s in Hwange,” said Ndhlovu.

She said she would be in Zimbabwe for some time before returning to South Africa, adding that the few DVDs for Ezasemzini which she had brought were bought in a short space of time.

Shetani became a hit locally in predominantly Nambya speaking communities of Hwange, Dete and Victoria Falls and even in Bulawayo. Ndhlovu revealed plans to produce a movie which will tell the story of people living in Victoria Falls.

However, Ndhlovu said the art industry could do better with a bit of financial support. -Twitter @ncubeleon
