down memory lane as the artistes did renditions of yester-year local and international hits.
For the first time since Hifa was launched, it opened with the national anthem Simudzai Mureza before the gig went a gear up with music from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s right up to the year 2013. The music extravaganza was a medley of sing-a-long tunes.
Although in some parts it sounded more like karaoke, the performance by the Zimbabwean artistes was spectacular.
It was a great show for those who love old skool music from the likes of Dolly Parton, Miriam Makeba, the Beatles, Abba to more recent ones like the late Brenda Fassie, Andy Brown, Oliver Mtukudzi and Alexio Kawara. The production was 100 percent local content spiced by international hits from the likes of Madonna, Rihanna, Chris Brown as well as Psy’s hit Gangnam Style.
