THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has mourned the death of the Sheriff of the High Court, Mr Macduff Madega, who died on Thursday, 20 August 2026.
Mr Madega, who served the judiciary for 41 years, was described by the JSC as a dedicated public servant who made valuable contributions to the administration of justice and the effective functioning of the courts.
In a condolence message, the JSC said Mr Madega served with dedication and commitment throughout his career, including during his tenure as Sheriff of the High Court.
“The Judicial Service Commission extends its deepest condolences to Mr Madega’s family, relatives, colleagues and all those who worked with him and were touched by his service,” said the JSC.
Mr Madega was laid to rest on Sunday, 23 August 2026, at Glen Forest Memorial Park in Harare.
The Commission said it stood in solidarity with the bereaved family and joined the nation in mourning the loss of a dedicated member of the Judicial Service.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the JSC said.
