As the country continues to receive isolated thunderstorms, the heaviest fell at Kariba with 109mm, Tsholotsho with 51 mm, and Nyanga 40mm, Bindura 39 mm, and Guruve and Mvurwi 18mm each.
The Meteorological Services Department indicated that in and around Masvingo, Matabeleland South, and the southern parts of Manicaland it was cloudy and windy with some morning drizzle while the north-western areas, the northern parts of Matabeleland North, were mostly sunny and hot.
Today in the morning cool and partly cloudy conditions are forecast to be experienced over much of the country while in the afternoon briefly cloudy and warm over the northern half of the country with chances of thundershowers.
The public is advised to stay indoors during thunder storms and watch for cooler conditions in the southern part of the country.
The onset of the rainfall season is when an area receives an amount of 20millimetres or more of rainfall in about three days and there is no dry spell for the next 10 days.
Maize requires 22 millimetres and above to germinate and soya beans 30mm minimum to be on the safe side.
