Voting is going on peacefully at all polling stations in the Zanu PF Gutu East primary elections, which are characterised by a high voter turnout.

The primary poll follows the expulsion of Mr Benjamin Ganyiwa from Zanu PF, who was the Gutu East National Assembly representative.

When The Herald Online visited voting centres such as Chin’ombe Rural Health Centre and Bhasera Business Centre earlier, long queues were still visible around 2 pm.

Voters said they were happy with the process, which is going on smoothly.

Cdes Nicholas Chiname, Phineous Chagonda, Zvarevashe Masvingise, Maone Veremu, Christopher Mashuro and Nobert Chikumbo are the candidates battling it out in the by-election.

A parliamentary by-election is expected in Gutu East Constituency in the near future.
