HIGHLANDERS have settled almost all signing-on fees owed to players from last year after principal sponsors Sakunda Holdings availed the funds.The club is now up to date with all winning bonuses for the games that the team collected maximum points.
Among the players that have been paid outstanding signing-on fees is midfielder Devine Mhindirira, who is now an FC Platinum player.
Eighty percent of last season’s outstanding signing-on fees have been paid and Bosso players are not owed a single cent in winning bonuses, club chief executive officer Sihlangu Dlodlo confirmed.
“I can confirm that we paid 80 percent of the 2023 players’ signing-on fees. I think we will be completely done in paying all the players by end of the week and Devine Mhindirira, who recently left us to join FC Platinum, is one of the players that we paid. We love him so much as we also allowed him to leave us,” Dlodlo.
He added: “We are very thankful to our principal sponsors Sakunda Holdings who have stood with us for a long time. We want to appreciate the patience from our players for waiting for their sign-ing-on fees. We thank them for their commitment. We don’t owe our players any winning bonuses and we are in the process of sorting out their bonuses for the game against Dynamos.”
Bosso beat Dynamos two nil at Rufaro Stadium in Harare last Sunday.
News that Bosso has paid signing-on fees and bonuses will come as a welcome development for the.
Club secretary-general Morgen Dube said they are so far satisfied with their squad.
“In this second transfer-window we have managed to bring in two strikers Never Rauzhi and Nqobile Ndlovu. We will see how it goes as we seek to strengthen our defence but we are not on a mass recruitment drive. We are happy with the squad that we have and we will stand guided by our coaches,” said Dube.
Rauzhi (27) joined Bosso from Bulawayo Chiefs on a six-month loan.
Ndlovu signed for the Bulawayo football giants from Sua Flamingoes FC of Botswana.
The 26-year-old forward penned a one-and-a-half-year contract with Bosso.
