A three-member Premiership disciplinary committee chaired by Vusi Vuma, who sat with Brighton Mudzamiri and Aisha Tsimba, heard the matter on September 29, with Bosso pleading not guilty to the charges.
However, the trio, in their judgment delivered on Tuesday, found Highlanders guilty of failing to control their fans during the final on September 10.
The PSL, however, ordered Highlanders to pay an effective fine of US$ 1 500 while the other US$ 1000 was suspended for the rest of the season on condition that Bosso were not convicted of a similar offence.
The effective fine should be paid by the end of this month and Highlanders were also ordered to pay for the costs of the hearing. The charges were that missiles were thrown onto the pitch from the Soweto Stand on two occasions, – in the 79th minute, causing a three-minute stoppage, and in the 88th minute, causing a two-minute stoppage.
On the second occasion, in the 88th minute, Motor Action player, Masimba Mambare was struck and injured on the head. The PSL disciplinary committee charged Bosso for breaching PSL rules and regulations which states that, it’s an offence, “throwing or attempting to throw missiles, bottled and other objects, whether potentially harmful or dangerous or not, on the pitch, or at any person.” In their defence, Highlanders said their their fans were infuriated by the conduct of the raffle draw at half time that seemed to favour a “a certain section of the supporters” and that Mambare feigned the injury. However, Highlanders admitted that missiles were thrown on the field and that was key to nailing them.
