Highlanders fundraising campaign in great start

Concerned Highlanders members and supporters running a whatsapp fundraising campaign under hashtag #Bosso OurprideOurheritage have so far managed to raise US$1 401, 5174rand and $45 160 since the launch of the public appeal last Friday.

The groups were split into five cells, the US$2 and below group, US$5, US$15 as well as US$20 and above group.

All the groups except the US$15 group have managed to contribute to the fund.

The US$20 and above group so far has 33 members including the entire executive committee, a board member and former board members and it had the highest amounts, US$1 320, 4300rand and $31 100. All the executive committee members were part of the contributors, contributing a minimum of US$50 each.

Highlanders treasurer Donald Ndebele expressed gratitude to the members and supporters who have so far responded to the distress call.

“We are excited and grateful to those who have so far responded to our call for help, they have Bosso at heart. Even though we are still a bit far from our target, signs are there that we will reach the promised land and hence we continue calling on the real Bosso sons and daughters and even well wishers to come forward,” said Ndebele.

Contributions are monthly with Ndebele indicating that they are looking at a monthly figure of US$14 000.
