HIGHLANDERS members have started gathering at the club’s clubhouse in Bulawayo ahead of what is expected to be a crucial Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) this morning.

The meeting has attracted significant interest from the Bosso faithful amid growing concern over the club’s financial challenges and governance issues.

Club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe is already at the venue alongside vice-chairman Israel Siziba, acting chief executive officer Kindman Ndlovu and several members of the board.

Scores of Highlanders members have also arrived, with more continuing to stream into the clubhouse as they await the official start of proceedings.

The EGM comes at a time when the country’s oldest football club is facing one of the most challenging periods in its history, with financial constraints, player welfare and governance matters expected to dominate discussions.

Members are also expected to receive updates on the club’s financial position and other issues affecting Highlanders, while several submissions made by members are likely to be discussed during the meeting.
