An epic battle is expected at the Highlanders Clubhouse tonight when Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts Association League log leaders Archers take on Highlanders in grudge match. Archers have gone for 14 games without losing a match while their hosts are fourth on the table four points behind from the same number of games.

Lethukuthula Nkomo, Highlanders’ captain said they are ready for the championship favourites who have three former Bosso players in their line-up.

Brian Ndlovu, Nkululeko Ncube and Albert Tawanda are the three players that joined Archers from Highlanders and have been key in their championship campaign.

“This is going to be a good game which will be tricky for both teams. We are more than ready for the log leaders and we want to give them a good run for their money. Archers is a good side with brilliant players and probably the strongest team in the league but we are not scared of them. They can underestimate us at their own peril,” said Nkomo.

Bosso will pin their hopes on Hadson Mukutu and Sikhulile Sibanda for the ultimate battle.

Nkomo said the availability of Zomhlaba Mpofu, a vital cog in their team hangs in the balance as the player is working in Tsholotsho and is yet to confirm his availability.

Archers skipper Ernest Sibanda said his charges are looking forward to the game and ruled out complacency from his side.
“At this stage the championship is for us to lose and we cannot afford to relax. The guys have been training hard and everyone is raring to go. We respect Highlanders just like all other teams but they must be ready for a massacre,” Sibanda said.

Second placed Railstars who are just a point behind Archers are away to Bellevue while Old Nic Mine who is on position three with 12 points have a tricky fixture when they take on Parkview Lions at Parkview.

Parkview Lions is still smarting from the 16-23 defeat suffered at the hands of log leaders and they will be hoping to capitalise on home advantage and send the miners who are in the championship race packing.
