VISITING Hilton College of South Africa chased down hosts St John’s College total of 129 to secure a five-wicket victory in the final of this year’s edition of the Ram Slam Twenty-20 tournament. The three-day tourney started on Friday with group matches. Hilton started playing on Saturday and the KwaZulu Natal boys played all three of their group games on Saturday and were triumphant in all matches.

They then beat Falcon by 12 runs in a tough semi-final and hosts St John’s also won all their qualifying games and only lost in the final.
St John’s were the defending champions and they set a total of 128 in 20 overs, with openers Gary King and Nick Welch posting 39 and 35 runs. Ross Talmage led Hilton’s chase, falling just three runs shy of his half century before the middle order carried them home.

Michael Dedekind added 30 runs to his team’s cause while all-rounder Ethan Bosch added 24 runs.
Hilton are currently ranked the 12th best playing cricket school in South Africa.
