POPULAR Hip Hop music star Holy 10 has been freed from pre-trial incarceration after he was granted US$500 bail when he appeared before the Harare regional magistrates’ court on rape allegations yesterday.
Represented by lawyer Mr Admire Rubaya, the rapper was ordered to surrender his passport and to report to the police once a week until the matter is finalised.
He will be back in court on August 7.
It is alleged that on July 20 at around 3pm, the complainant and her friend went to Avondale shops where the singer was recording music and waited for him to finish as she was supposed to feature in his music video.
Reports are that the friend then left whereupon the singer and the girl went to a BnB in Hatfield where the singer is residing and doing his work.
On arrival, it is alleged Holy 10 took the girl to his room and locked the door from inside. He allegedly threatened the girl and told her to comply, or he would kill her.
He allegedly raped the girl.
It is the State’s case that after the act, Holy 10 instructed a man to hail an InDrive for the complainant and she was returned to Avondale shops where she met up with her aunt, whom she is staying with.
The aunt asked her where she was coming from. At first she lied that she had visited a friend, but later narrated what had transpired. The aunt then accompanied her to make a police report, leading to the arrest of the singer.
His four accomplices are still at large.
