AFRO-FUSION artiste, Mr Candy, and rapper-of-the-moment Holy Ten’s partnership is paying dividends.
Two years ago, the duo released Marisa, featuring Michael Magz, which was a hit song.
Eleven months ago, they went on to release the track Pressure, which was among the top 10 local videos trending on YouTube.
Today, the two will drop a new song titled I Do.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mr Candy said that his music is a journey, not a race to be competing with another artist.
“As a musician, I’ve received support and encouragement from other mainstream artists – Qounfuzed, Holy Ten, the late Garry Mapanzure, my producer and manager King Chief, and many other artists who I’ve worked with or have work in progress.
“I believe music is a journey and not a race, so the goal is to spread love and good vibes to the world with my music.
“About the collaboration with Holy Ten, the first single we released was Marisa, then Pressure.
“The creative process is quite a fun experience, we just meet up at the studio and we make good music. We have a song coming out this week titled ‘I Do.’”
Mr Candy said he is inspired by Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.
“Music has always been my passion since when I was a toddler learning how to walk. Growing up, I used to listen to a lot of Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.”
