ZADA Construction Company on Monday donated an ambulance to Mother Theresa Old People’s Home as part of efforts to support the elderly.
Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Cde Didymus Mutasa handed over the ambulance to the old people’s home which is in Ardbennie, Harare.
ZADA Construction company director Mr John Leons said he hoped the ambulance would help improve the healthcare of the elderly who often lack transport to hospital when they fall ill.
“This donation is a social responsibility gesture that will enhance the home’s response to emergency cases,” he said. “We are giving back to the community by supporting our elderly.”
Mr Leons urged other corporates to support elderly people who often face numerous challenges when it comes to accessing healthcare facilities.
Sister Esprence, a representative of the Mother Theresa Old People’s Home expressed gratitude for the donation saying it would bring great relief to the elderly at the home.
