SOUTH Africa-based urban grooves artist, Nox Guni, says home is best.
He said this after a warm reception he received at Jongwe Corner, in the Mashonaland West capital, after his performance at the weekend,
The singer, who has staged a series of shows in Masvingo, Beitbridge and Bulawayo, saluted Chinhoyi fans for embracing him.
“This is the first time that I performed here, as well as meeting the owner of Jongwe Corner, Boss Chau.
“I realised he is my former high school friend and it was nice supporting each other, many years after leaving high school.
“This show was a bit special since I managed to link up with fans, after a very long time, as well as hooking up with my high school friend (Boss Chau) who is now a successful entrepreneur,” he said.
Nox, who has a bias towards love songs, has vowed to continue representing women’s issues.
“They need a lawyer and I am their advocate.
“Ladies like my music and that is why it’s easy for women to follow me.
“They genuinely love my music and I like the way they trust me,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to denounce drug abuse among young people.
“I am not going to sugar coat the issue.
“We need to find something to keep the young busy because they are lying idle, they end up taking drugs .
“We need to address the problem as a matter of urgency,” he said.
He said it was high time stakeholders come together and find a solution.
“I don’t want to think much about it, because I haven’t been in their shoes, but I am wise enough to know.
“Remember, this is not one person who is doing drugs.
“It’s about all the youths.
“It has become something alarming,” he added.
He also described his countrywide tour as a huge success.
“This was the right time for me to go on a national tour.
“Afterwards, it will be on the international stage,” said.
Meanwhile, Jongwe Corner general manager, Tonderai Shambira, said he was impressed by Nox’s performance.
“We are very happy that all the artists were very amazing.
“Nox was on fire and we can’t wait to do business with him once again.
“He also showed fellow artists how it is done and it’s clear that he has gained a lot of experience in the game,” said Shambira.
