Homosexuality debate fails

CAPE Town — Malawi has reportedly broadcast its first ever political debate among running mates to the presidential candidates in the 20 May elections.
According to Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the debate organised by the privately-owned Zodiak Broadcasting Station, comprised running mates from the country’s major political parties.
The candidates were asked how they would address various issues of national concern, among them, homosexuality, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Political analyst Ernest Thindwa said the debate was a lost opportunity as the candidates seemed not prepared for the discussions.

Thindwa said candidates failed to come up with an action plan. He gave an example that candidates could not give their parties’ position on homosexuality. —News24.
