IF IT was not for the high pitched screams, a 14-year-old girl who was kidnapped and allegedly fondled by a man who was part of a Honda Fit vehicle crew, was going to be raped.
The girl was kidnapped at a bus stop near her home in Pumula North, Bulawayo by a Honda Fit crew that had three male occupants and a driver. The minor boarded the car intending to go to Bulawayo’s Magwegwe North suburb.
But her journey was cut short before she reached her destination after two occupants disembarked from the car.
“Two occupants disembarked and she was left seated at the back seat next to a man who started to fondle her breasts and kissed her,” said the source.
Things went from bad to worse as he allegedly forced her to play with his manhood. “After that the man told the driver to drive a few metres away from the road. The minor burst into high-pitched screams prompting the man to stop caressing her,” said the source.
After that they dropped the minor and sped-off. The sobbing minor ran to her home and told her parents. The incident was reported to the police.
Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident. “We would like to discourage community members from letting their children travel alone as that exposes them to criminal attacks. We would like to appeal for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information may contact any nearest police station,” he said.
