A HONDE Valley-based gospel group recently released an eight-track album titled Jesu Munoraira Zuva, a project made to honour the omniscient nature of God.

The group is led by Caleb Makoni and his wife Winnie. The two are members of the Apostolic Faith Mission Church in Zimbabwe (AFM).

Apart from the title track, other songs on the album are Kana ndirini nemhuri yangu, Parwendo rwekudenga, Jesu munorwira mweya wangu, Wandigadza nemadzimambo, Wabuda wamutevera and maIsraeri.

Caleb said the album was a precursor of more and better albums to be released in the near future.

Said Makoni: “Our group, Tower of Grace is made up of 16 mature people and we are more than determined to spread the gospel of the Lord to the whole nation and beyond its borders. We spent a good three years trying to perfect this project and I am sure it will touch people’s lives like never before.

“We know that this is only our first project, but we are promising Zimbabweans more and better albums very soon. I think it took us this long to release our first album because we were taking ourselves for granted. The only time we saw that we were wasting talent just by singing on church items was when our fellow church members took a video of us while singing. That video propelled us to where we are today. We are destined for greatness and we will not let Zimbabwe down in as far as spreading the gospel through music is concerned.”

Asked when the group started their involvement in music, Makoni revealed that they started as a very small group in 2011 where they would sing in church before Sunday main services until they flourished and became a force to reckon with.

The album was recorded at Hauna Growth Point (Phase 2) in Honde Valley.
