How to make traditional Maheu (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

Preparation Time (30 min) Cook Time (7 days) Total Time (8 days) 

Ingredients: 500g finger millet, 3 litres hot water, 1 litre cold water

Traditional Maheu

Instructions: Add finger millet to hot water stirring on the stove on high heat until it comes to the boil. When it starts boiling reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 1hour allow it to cool. Add your cold water and mix it well to thin out the mixture. Place in a dry place to allow fermentation to begin. Leave for seven days or whatever time to get the potency you require.
