BULAWAYO police are on hunt for a Lovendale man who allegedly murdered his wife after striking her repeatedly with a plank over infidelity allegations.

The alleged murderer has been identified as 54-year-old Titus Masiya.

Police have named the deceased as Samkeliso Adams – a mother of four.

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of murder where Samkeliso Adams had a misunderstanding with her husband Titus Masiya on 29 March at around 10pm in Lovendale suburb.
“The couple argued over a cell phone number that was saved in the wife’s phone,” said Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele.

After the argument, husband and wife went to bed.

“But at 2am on 30 March, the accused took a plank and hit the now deceased all over the body repeatedly. She tried to runaway but he pursued her and continued assaulting her,” said Insp. Msebele.

Neighbours who were woken up by the commotion tried to stop the accused from further assaulting the deceased.

“The accused person then ran away and neighbours ferried the injured woman to Mpilo Central Hospital where she pronounced dead upon on arrival,”

Police are appealing for information that may assist in the arrest of the accused.
