‘Husband has multiple partners’

A Harare woman exposed her bedroom secrets while applying for a protection order against her husband yesterday.

Chioneso Bete told the Harare Civil Court that her husband, Safina Bete, is a cheat and exposes their child to diseases.

She revealed that her husband had multiple partners, and was in the habit of inviting his girlfriends home in her presence.

“He threatens to kill me or assault me. He doesn’t give me money for medication,” said Chioneso.

Safina did not oppose the application.

“I do not oppose the application, but everything she is saying is a lie. I have never threatened her.

“We last fought in 2001. Everything she is saying is based on gossips,” he said.

“I even tried talking to her so that we reconcile, but she said she no longer wants to sleep with me, of which it is difficult for me as a man.

“Our children even intervened and told her that what she is doing is wrong, and that she had taken it too far.”

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted Chioneso protection order.
