Husband rapes maid

Mr Jarabini remanded him in custody to April 22 for trial and asked him to seek bail at the High Court.

Circumstances are that on March 20, Munyuki was sleeping in his bedroom with his son while the maid was sleeping in the kitchen as usual while his wife was at work.
Prosecutor Mr Lovet Muringwa alleges that Munyuki took advantage of his wife’s absence when he woke up and headed to where the maid was.

The court heard that Munyuki started kicking the minor and when she asked him why he was doing that, he told her that he wanted to play with her.
After that, he reportedly started fondling her and raped her.

Further allegations are that, after raping the maid, he returned to his room to attend to his crying son.
The following day, the maid informed his wife of what had happened.

The minor reportedly called her uncle informing him of the sexual abuse.
The uncle came and took her to the police where they reported the matter leading to his arrest.
