TALENTED Hwange right-back Tonisani Sibelo has signed a pre-contract with top Zambian side Power Dynamos, who are coached by former Hwange and FC Platinum coach Tennant Chilumba.

Sibelo, who has previously declared his intention of joining Bulawayo giants Highlanders, yesterday confirmed to Chronicle Sport that he will be joining the financially sound Zambian outfit.

“I have signed a pre-contract agreement with Power Dynamos, but my heart is still at Highlanders. I wish to play for the side just like every player. Without a doubt, Highlanders is one of the best clubs in the country and every player dreams of playing for them one day,” said Sibelo.

The defender spent a season at the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Chicken Inn before retracing his roots to the Colliery.

Nicknamed Yeboah by his teammates because of his exploits, the former Hwange High schoolboy has been one of the most consistent players at Chipangano, often coming up with crucial goals for the Nation Dube-coached boys.

He will become the second Zimbabwean to play in Zambia after another defender Zimiseleni Moyo.

Power Dynamos ranks as one of the best Zambian clubs in terms of consistency, silverware and performance, and their Arthur Davies Stadium is considered the best club stadium in that country.

Power Dynamos have claimed the Zambian Premiership title six times in 1984, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000 and 2011. They enjoyed continental success in 1991 when they won the African Cup Winners’ Cup.
