The coalminers started their revival march when they drew 1-1 with tricky Buffaloes last weekend before the demolition show which left their fans appeased.
It was business from the first minute as Hwange laid siege in the Hardbody half and it was not surprising they raced into the lead in the 19th minute after veteran striker Gilbert Zulu rose high to head in a curling Tonisani Sibelo free kick.
Not to be outdone the visitors threatened the Hwange goal in the 28th minute after Stephen Alumenda’s piledriver was parried back into play by goalkeeper Petros Mhari before steady defender Gerald Ndlovu played the rebound to safety.
The hosts doubled the advantage in the 31st minute when midfielder Farai Vimisai scored a stinging effort that goalkeeper Ashley Rayners never saw.
Hwange coach Nation Dube’s game plan then suffered a huge knock three minutes from the breather when Evans Rusike was shown a straight red card for a foul on Roy Useni near the centre circle. A minute after the break the Midlanders pulled one back after substitute Callisto Maheya headed in a curling Brian Juru free kick.
Gerald Ndlovu added another goal from the penalty spot after Alumeda fouled Lungu.
Hardbody coach Godfrey Tamirepi then threw in Richard Jongwe and Owen Mtisi for Phiniel Manhope a move which raised their home with some dangerous forays which could produce a goal.
