HWANGE is hosting the Provincial Educational Career Guidance, Opportunities and Information Dissemination Expo, designed to celebrate the equitable distribution of national opportunities while embracing Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030.

The inaugural expo, running from June 27-29, is the first in a series organised by Zimeducate, a dedicated platform committed to promoting inclusive development and empowering communities across Zimbabwe. The Minister of Tertiary and Higher Education, Professor Paul Mavhima, is expected to officially grace the occasion.

In an interview, Tendai Moyo, the Event Coordinator for Zimeducate, highlighted the key objectives of the expo. “Communities often face significant challenges in accessing quality education and viable career pathways due to geographic isolation, limited resources and lack of exposure to opportunities. Consequently, there is a pressing need to create platforms that not only disseminate information but also inspire and equip students with the knowledge and tools to pursue their educational and professional aspirations.”

The cross-cutting exhibitions will feature interactive sessions on topics such as career planning, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, health, drug and substance abuse, abstinence, climate change, food security, and skills development. Career fairs will provide students and attendees with opportunities to engage with employers, and explore job openings, internships, and apprenticeships.

“Zimeducate through these educational, career guidance and opportunities expos envisage a number of key benefits to students and participants. By providing access to educational and career resources, the exhibitions will empower both urban and rural communities to make informed decisions and pursue their aspirations,” Moyo added.

The series of expos and festivals organised by Zimeducate aims to celebrate the equitable distribution of national opportunities and foster collaboration among stakeholders to address local communities’ challenges and opportunities.
