HWANGE underlined their title hunt credentials in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League after opening a three-point lead at the top of the standings following an impressive run of results in Match Day Four fixtures.

The coal miners lead the table with 10 points from four matches, maintaining an unbeaten record of three wins and one draw, while the closest challengers, Blackrock FC, trail on nine points.

Hwange’s dominance was emphatically highlighted by a 5-0 demolition of Casmyn FC at the Colliery, a result that not only secured maximum points but also boosted their goal difference to a commanding +9, the best in the league so far.

Talen Vision FC and Nkayi United FC are tied on eight points apiece, keeping pressure on the top two, while Megawatt FC and Bulawayo Warriors sit just behind on seven points, ensuring the race for promotion remains tightly contested.

Bulawayo Warriors were among the biggest movers of the weekend, registering two important victories. They began with a solid 2-0 win over Njube United before following it up with a convincing 3-1 triumph against Bosso 90. The six-point haul has seen them climb into sixth position, firmly placing themselves among the promotion hopefuls.

Jordan FC also continued their steady rise with a 2-1 victory over Aqua Stars, while Zimbabwe Saints FC secured a comfortable 3-0 win against Black Rock FC, bouncing back strongly to reassert their presence in the mid-table standings.

Elsewhere, Bulawayo City and Imbizo FC played out a 1-1 draw in a tightly contested encounter, while Zebra Revolution and Nkayi United shared the spoils in a goalless stalemate. Vic Falls Herentials were also held to a 1-1 draw by Megawatt FC.

At the lower end of the table, struggles continue for Bosso 90, who remain rooted at the bottom without a point after four matches. Zebra Revolution and Khami United are also in the relegation zone with one and two points respectively, and will need to turn around their fortunes quickly to avoid falling further behind.

With the season still in its early stages, the intensity is already building up in the Zifa Pacific Breeze Southern Region Division One League, with several teams showing genuine ambition for promotion. However, Hwange’s consistency and firepower have so far set them apart as the team to beat.
