‘I am being sabotaged’

Weekender Reporter
LIFE in Harare has become unbearable for Munotidako hitmaker Jacob Moyana who made sensational claims that some musicians and promoters were sabotaging him and were so determined to see him down.

The 36-year-old musician moved to Harare last year after spending the better part of his music career in Beitbridge. His move to join a bandwagon of other artistes in the capital was a strategic move meant to scale his career to dizzy heights and make a name for himself.

Moyana, speaking after his fine performance at Gwinyai Bar popularly known as Pabako in Sakubva last Saturday, the humorous musician said he had become popular and famous but getting poorer by each day.

The Chipinge-born artiste and his Black Hunters band is currently staying in Arcadia in a flat that is being rented by a popular Harare-based businessman and promoter.

“I am poor, but my name is very popular. I came to Harare hoping to take my music to another level. It is quite unfortunate that there are some musicians who are after my downfall. They sometimes remove my posters. They walk around telling people that I am unprofessional and I don’t have a band,” he said revealing the names of some popular musicians.
