ANDY Muridzo says he has no time for ‘LUNATICS’ after a man went on social media to announce that he has a crush on him.

The singer has had a controversial past but he insists he is working hard to clean his image and should be given time to do so.

“I don’t have time for lunatics because I am not gay, as is the character’s claim,” he said.

“I didn’t entertain his post but, even so, people didn’t support me.

“I thought people would fight in my corner for denouncing homosexuality but I still didn’t get the support.”

The Jeetaz Band leader also believes that many people now label him as a “hothead” without trying to get “the story from the horse’s mouth.”

His comments came in response to claims by a Norton woman, identified as Mai Kapwepwe, who faces eviction from a plot, which belongs to Muridzo’s mother.

Kapwepwe has been accusing Muridzo of unlawful eviction after she received a court order to leave the farm after a protracted legal battle that began in 2011.

In a viral video, she said:

“Andy Muridzo wants us evicted from Kintyre Estates, yet we also raised him.

“We used to look after him since he grew up playing with my kids.

“With his status in society, it’s bad for him to be doing this to us by submitting our names for eviction.”

She added:

“I don’t expect this from him because he is backing our eviction. I wish this video could go viral so that we get help.”

Clearing the air, Muridzo said Mai Kapwepwe was among the residents who are leaving his mother’s farm following a court order granted recently.

“I have seen the video but the matter has been going on for years and that woman is part of the people who were ordered to leave my mother’s farm,” he said.

“It’s not like I am taking matters into my own hands, there are court rulings to that effect.

“Some of them have already left, while others are resisting, and the matter is being handled by the police.”

He added that the Deputy Sheriff advised them to report cases of people resisting arrest.

“They are fully aware. Some of these people have nowhere to go after settling at the compound for years, before the land reform programmes since they came to settle here as farm workers.”

The 33-year-old, who was raised at the farm, revealed that the infighting worsened 15 years ago, prompting the court processes.

“Growing up at the farm, I have seen a lot because my mother was being abused physically, emotionally, and economically by the same farm workers who were finally ordered to leave the farm,” he said.

He claimed Mai Kapwepwe once destroyed his mother’s garden and set it on fire.

“There were even some farm workers who used to scare my mother with axes and it was long overdue,” Muridzo said.

“I know some people already believe that woman’s version of the story but, to be honest, I have faced worse in my career.

“Sometimes, I contemplate filing charges of cyberbullying against those people who used to leave me drained in the past through their actions.

“In this case, many of the former farm workers are on their way out but they are also smearing my name because I am well known.

“This has made my life miserable at times.

“As it stands right now, we are moving on with our business at this plot (now called Parklands Farm) because we have won the case.

“It was also part of the land reform programme, which benefited most of us who have a passion for farming.

“Bitterness from losers will not deter us, we will continue doing our farming.”
