I DON’T JOKE ON STAGE – MACHESO

Trust Khosa

ALICK Macheso insists that the stage is the Chief Executive Officer’s work station.

He says it is a space for serious business ONLY.

Macheso opened up to H-Metro after his show at Warren Park Council Bar last Friday.

“I don’t joke on stage because that’s where my bread is baked.

“Each time that I take to the stage I will be a different person altogether.

“I always treat the stage as the CEO’s office where serious business is being done.

“I enjoy it when fans are happy and that is why we are very serious on stage,” he said.

As a father figure in showbiz, Macheso believes he has an influential role to play in the industry.

“I have come to a point where I have realised that I should change other people’s lives, especially young artists who look up to make.

“Several people have been coming to my place of residence in Waterfalls and others frequenting our offices at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex looking for advice.

“I realised I should help them with the best advice I can.

“Growing up, I was also raised by others who saw the potential that I had.”

In the past few years, he has helped the likes of Tryson Chimbetu, Tendai and Morgan Dembo, Tedius Muchapedza Mtsito Junior and Carlos Green. He has also extended his love to female artists who are itching for exposure.

He always makes it a policy that he ropes new other artists wherever he performs.

“I don’t have a problem sharing the stage with artists from other genres because I get to learn one or two things,” he said.
