“I don’t regret leaving Macheso for Sulumani and I won’t go back. Here, the money is good and I drive around in a good Mercedes-Benz,” he said.
He said he has easily filled the gap left by Wayne Kembo, who was lured by Tryson Chimbetu.
“I feel comfortable with the dendera dance unlike Macheso’s energy-sapping dances. I have been here for only three months but I have already introduced some new dancing styles that have taken our audiences by surprise,” he said.
Slomo said he can adapt to any band in the world. “I don’t run short of new dance routines. I can dance for Hosiah Chipanga, Michael Jackson, Koffi Olomide or Arthur Mafokoate. All the prophets of doom who wanted me to fail with Sulumani are eating humble pie,” he said.
When Slomo joined Sulumani, the latter also lost his band members to his cousin Tryson, sparking a spate of accusations and counter-accusations.
