I have not been in ICU, says Sophie Lichaba

. . After appearing on 5FM where she discussed living with diabetes and her weight-loss, Sophie Lichaba found herself at the mercy of internet trolls who mocked her weight-loss and started nasty rumours of her being in ICU.
Taking to Instagram to set the record straight, the former Generations actress posted a video of herself addressing the rumours.

“Hello South Africa. I thought I should just clear the air,” she began.

“These past few weeks I have been trending and trending and trending. It’s quite boring because I am not dead, I am not a zombie and I’m definitely not in ICU because I’m talking to you now.”

Sophie then showed gratitude to fans who have been supportive of her health journey and even had a message for the haters.

“For those of you who have been writing these horrible and boring messages, please find better things to do with your time because I have better things to do with my time,” she said.

It is not the first time the actress has trended because of fake news about her health.

In October, she became the subject of a death hoax that was started by a troll who claimed to have heard reports from Sabc 3’s breakfast show, Expresso.
