A 20-YEAR-OLD Chikurubi Female Prison inmate says she regrets stealing, which landed her in jail.

Loice Tsikai said she stole groceries from her employer and is now paying for them with 12 months behind bars.

“I was convicted of theft. I worked as a shopkeeper in a grocery store and I stole groceries from the shop,” she said.

Tsikai added:

“All was well until my employer failed to pay me.

“I then decided that the only way to deal with the situation was by stealing his groceries,” she said.

Tsikai stole sugar, rice, salt, cooking oil and flour and sold them.

“When I stole the groceries, I was filled with anger, but now when I think about it, I realise that I have wasted time,” she said.
