ZIMBABWE Prisons and Correctional Service ambassador, Suluman Chimbetu, yesterday said his wife, Linda Samuriwo, was committed to assisting ZPCS in empowering inmates.

Linda had accompanied Sulu to yesterday’s empowerment programme for female prisoners at Chikurubi Prison.

Sulu said: “I really appreciate what women are doing in empowering each other.

“I was touched by Chaplain Christine Phiri’s message.

“I have decided to pledge my wife to assist ZPCS in empowering female inmates.”

He joked that if his wife takes part in such activities, it will relieve him from her demands for attention.

“My wife should take part in ZPCS activities.

“That will also make her understand what I mean when I tell her that I am busy.

“Whenever you need her, I promise to bring her so that she also gets involved in the empowerment of women,” he said.
